So the emerging theme here, is, of course, photos taken from the back.

Some people frown on this. Some unenlightened photography teachers may even tell you not to do it. I say, pay them no mind. There are always going to be cases when a photo taken from the back of a subject tells a better story than one taken from the front.

Take this photograph, for example. This is a friend – Paty Jager www.patyjager.net ‘s granddaughter. I love the goofy kid thing that she’s doing with her hands. Would she have felt as comfortable if I’d been in front of her, pointing a camera at her face? No. (And I wouldn’t have captured her cute braid, either).

In hindsight, I do wonder if she was making a goofy face to go with the hand thing…but we can’t be two places at once, can we? I happened to be in back of her, and I think the shot tells a story. Simply. And from the back.
