There is a real beauty to fishing. The skill involved, the finesse. The surroundings – water, nature, other like-minded people. And the fish themselves. Beautiful, resiliant, tasty creatures.

Out of three fish caught that day, this is the only good shot I was able to capture of a fish breaking the water surface. I wish this shot was brighter, but then it wouldn’t be realistic.

The photo is a good example of how a photo story can be told simply, without a lot of details — the fish, the line with bobber and a peek of net in the corner.

I used my second favorite lens for this – an ultrasonic Canon 28-80mm.
