This is Raeann, or “Miss Rae” as she’s known on the Alsea River. She used to co-guide with her husband, Jim. Miss Rae’s boat is painted purple. I like that. I also like how the light is shining on her in this shot and the background is dark, so she and her battle to reel in a 30-pound fish are front and center. I like the emotion in the shot – the sheer concentration of this little lady to land this big fish. And, well, I just like Miss Rae.
