We see a lot of fog during the winter months in Oregon. So far this December has been no exception.

There are days with misty fog, lifting fog, fog that burns off and thick fog that never lets the sun through.

But fog also grants opportunity for some interesting photo effects – light through the fog, figures emerging from the fog, or subjects shrouded in fog.

I took this photo late last week while on my way home from a newspaper assignment. I saw these horses in the fog under big oak trees and turned around to get the shot.

  1. I love the gnarly, searching fingers of dead or defoliated trees! Makes it!
