A fluffed-up bird seems a nice way to say, “Good morning!” during December

I don’t know what species this little bird is. I took the photo earlier this month on a cold morning near Cheadle Lake in Lebanon, Oregon.

There were several species of small birds flitting along through the trees in front of me along the hiking path. I had to react quickly to get this shot – the only decent one I could capture.

Notice the dead leaf impaled by a small branch and wrapped around a bigger branch below the bird? Interesting.

  1. Looks like a little house sparrow. 🙂

  2. I was hoping someone would weigh in on what type of bird it might be. Thanks, Lilly!
