This is no award-winning photograph, but considering it was taken on the fly, I guess it turned out okay.

A friend and I did a booksigning this past Saturday in Eugene, Oregon. She writes cookbooks. Among other things, I write stories for the Ultimate series by HCI Books. In this case the Ultimate Bird Lovers (also with one of my photos) and the Ultimate Gardener.

So we were on our way home afterwards. Linda was driving up the freeway at 65 or so miles-per-hour and I saw this incredible mist hovering along the hills off to the right. I did what any photographer who didn’t have time to stop would do – I dialed up the shutter speed and took some shots through the window.

Right about then, we saw a car pulled over and a guy standing along Interstate 5 shooting photos of the same scene. Lucky bum had time to stop. Wish we’d had time. But we had to get to Scio, Oregon where Linda was in a Christmas play and I was covering the event for the Scio News.

Oh, and we each sold five books at the Authors & Artists Fair and met many interesting people. Thanks for asking! : )
