I’d like to spend a couple of days talking about focal point, or depth of field. This is rudimentary stuff, but if you’re like me, a reminder/refresher of even the most basic photography stuff is sometimes useful. “Photography stuff.” Uh, yes, I am so very technical. ; )

Anyway, here we go.

This shot is focused on the clover in the field instead of the farm in the background. Even with a blurred background from a fairly shallow Depth of Field (DoF) we can still tell it’s a farm back there. Our eye is drawn to the clover in the foreground, skips to the agricultural buildings in the background, and then returns to the clover.
