The burning question in the last post was – will the egret eat his fish in front of the photographer?

Question answered – NO.

I think the bird was afraid I’d try to take his fish away. Either that or he just wanted to gulp his food in peace.

The egret flew to a nearby log at the edge of Cheadle Lake to swallow his breakfast. The last I saw of that fish, it was a big lump in the bird’s long neck.

Isn’t nature amazing?
