Two of these kids were around a week old. The black one was only a few days old. Don’t they have great markings? I especially like the zig zag stripe down the brown goat’s back.

It was so funny to watch them try to navigate this hill, which was really just a slope from a driveway down into a field. I do wish I’d backed the lens up a bit so the brown goat’s nose wasn’t so close to the edge of the frame and all of their feet were showing. But like human kids, these guys move quickly and constantly. Taking photos of them was definitely done photojournalism style – frame quick and click.

These are dairy breed goats. The brown one in front is still living at Triangle J Farm in Albany, Oregon with his mama and his twin brother – daddy “Ricky” is in a nearby pen. The other two kids already sold to good homes.

Please see more on Triangle J Farm in my past two posts by clicking the back arrow, or by clicking on “archive” at the top of the page.

For more information on the farm and current availability of goats and pigs, find them on Facebook. Or ask here.

  1. The toes spread wide on the first kid, with the zig-zag stripe, really makes me laugh! So cute, great shot.

  2. Thanks Indigo! Such a fun shoot – running, bucking, butting, sliding kids.

  3. Barbara said on my Facebook link: “Great shooting to catch this.”
