We’ll get back to goats in a little bit – I’ve still got a couple goat shots I’d like to share. But let’s take a pig side road for a few posts, shall we?

Meet mama sow, Lilly and her wee ones – 11 wee ones to be exact.

Lilly is an ex show pig. She’s sweet tempered and an excellent mother. She’d just given birth to these piggies the night before I’d visited Triangle J Farm the first time, which was a week ago on Feb. 16.

Lilly wasn’t bothered by me or my camera. She just continued doing her mother pig thing, which included rolling often to her side and grunting the piggies over to nurse.

I’m pleased with how the depth of field turned out in this shot, with the focus on the little piglet in front. And how cute is that second pig, sitting on his haunches like a puppy?

Baby animals. Gotta love ’em!
