This mama goose looks so content sitting on her nest.

And wise.

There’s something about the gleam in her eye that speaks of a quiet wisdom to me. Do you see it, too?

As with many of my recent posts, this shot was taken at Triangle J Farm in Albany, Oregon. Farmers Joe and Julie were kind enough to let me take photos to my heart’s content on two different occasions last month.

  1. Julie at Triangle J wrote on my Facebook link: “The friend that gave us the geese and I were talking yesterday about how the mother geese seem to know that 12 eggs is enough, and it’s time to sit. She had 12 at last count before she started sitting. I wonder if this is where the dozen eggs started from?”
