This was one of the first shots I got at the Wildlife Safari when my family went to Roseburg and Winston, Oregon for a mini vacation at the end of February.

The raven isn’t one of the captive animals at the park, but a wild bird that probably hangs out for the free food.

It’s still one of my favorite shots I took that day. I like the mysterious sort of mood i sets with the raindrops and the bent and blurry background trees.

I can almost hear the raven uttering, “Nevermore.”

I entered this shot in one of my camera club competitions. We’ll see on Monday how it does. And if it makes it on to the next round of competion.

  1. Great shot. Ravens are pretty amazing birds, and probably would be hard (impossible?) to contain in a safari park – too smart for mere humans.

  2. Thanks Ehpem. And true. Very intelligent birds.

  3. Class birds ravens. Difficult to get close to them so shots like this show great skill.

  4. Love it! Great capture, and very nicely framed.
