This is a new addition in our rural neighborhood. His name is Joker’s Hocus Pocus, but his owners – our neighbors – call him Hokey for short.

Hokey is a two-week-old miniature horse. If there was a better word to describe adorable than adorable, I’d be using it to describe this little guy.

I met baby Hokey for the first time on Easter Sunday when my neighbor, Tammy brought him out of the barn and into a round pen near our property.

Hokey had a great time racing circles around his dam inside the pen, but once Tammy brought him outside the pen, he didn’t feel quite as brave and ready to leave mama’s side.

I do wish he’d raced around outside the pen too. I would have loved to capture frames of him running without railing in the shots.

I’ll be sharing photos of little Hokey throughout the week.
