Here’s another shot of the lowly Scotch bloom, a noxious weed in Oregon with a beauty of its own.

I took this shots a couple of weeks ago at the Oregon Coast.

  1. This shot looks so lovely! =)

  3. Broom is a noxious weed in BC as well – curse the nostalgic drive of settlers to reproduce their former home surroundings.

    • It was fun to ride horseback through sandlots of Scotch broom as a kid in the summer. The seed pods would explode with a pop on contact.

      • They do that around here too, just walking past them. But man, are they hard to get rid of once established – all those exploding seeds projecting across the country side.

  4. So true, but when you’re a kid who thinks of these things?
