Bird on Barbed Wire

This isn’t a stellar shot, but I like the way it simply says “country.”

I had pulled over alongside a back road in Shedd, Oregon last week to photograph a patch of camas. (To see a shot of that wildflower, click here).

This scrub jay swooped down and landed on the barbed wire fence on the other side of the road. I couldn’t resist firing off a few shots.

I wound up cropping the photo and dropping a little more light into the bird’s eye. I used the paint brush in my trusty old photo program, “Photo Explosion.”
