This is another shot from my niece’s baby shower.

While the ladies were playing shower games, this guy – who I think was one of the young women’s husbands – headed down to my brother and sister-in-laws pond to catch bullfrogs.

He made his own net, which I thought was clever. I forfeited the shower games to trek down to the pond edge and take photos of the frog-hunting action.

I don’t know this guy’s name and I purposely chose a shot that doesn’t show his face. I didn’t want to embarrass him, on the off chance he sees this post. He was a stealthy hunter. When the frogs moved deeper into the middle of the pond, he used twist ties to add a longer stick to the net handle. When he still couldn’t reach the frogs, he decided to venture into the pond.

It was when he took a step off the bank that the real comedy began. The mud was much deeper than he anticipated. About crotch deep to be exact.

No frog was injured (or caught) in the production of this photograph.
