Here’s another shot I took last winter of morning sunlight through fog. In this case, through frozen fog, which isn’t a common occurence.

Of course morning light is a beautiful time of day to take photographs. Add in an interesting weather factor and the possibilities really open up.

I took this shot in Sodaville, Oregon. There were horses in the far field. I tried to include them in the photo, but of course when the lighting was perfect, the horses moved out of sight under the trees. This beautiful lighting effect last for literally only seconds.

This shot was run through a color filter in a program called Photo Explosion. I think it now resembles a Thomas Kincaid painting – may he rest in peace.

  1. Beautiful shot. The effect is quite sepia with a sort of suppressed burst of colour.

  2. Reblogged this on miracahills and commented:

Another sort of sunburst photo. These can be very special and magical.

  3. This is simply stunning.

  4. The light is terrific, but for me the photos is also made by the curve of the fence line which is so well arranged in your composition. Great photo!

  5. It’s a really lovely scenery with the sun rays streaming down among the trees. Beautifully serene and at the same time quite intense. The limited colour palette enhances the mood of the photo. Beautifully captured and processed. (And by the way sorry for having been absent lately, I just haven’t had time to comment the last couple of weeks).

    • Thanks for the compliments, Otto. And I understand – you’ve been busy. Summer is a busy time for us here, too. I usually post daily, but I’ve missed posting anything over the weekend.

  6. Love the photo I read one time this is the fingers of GOD. :
