Why do California poppies grow rampant in Oregon?

I don’t know. But the vibrant flowers are now in full bloom seemingly everywhere.

For color saturation, you can’t beat the California poppy.

Here is a color version of this photo. Because of the play of light and shadows on the petals, this shot also works in monochrome, which I will share next.
