Here’s another example of how effective a figure in a photograph can be.

The big ocean with the little shaver looking down at his feet seems to me like an illustration for a “missing you” greeting card.

This effect was achieved by purposely cropping out the little boy’s mother, who was nearby in the surf.

It’s also a study of contrast between the big and the small.

Photo taken a couple weeks ago at Agate Beach in Newport, Oregon.
