So the most challenging thing about photographing baby alpacas running and bucking, I have discovered, is the low  light level. They get playful and frisky each night right at dusk.

Using a flash make their eyes look red or green and eery. A faster shutter speed doesn’t let in enough light…

Challenging.

I’ve taken many, many photos trying to capture the cria cavorting. Only a handful have turned out half-way decent. This one shows the action and cuteness, but is blurrier (is that a word?) than I’d like, for sure.

That’s Lady Contessa in the background, and Glory’s Hallelujah in the foreground.
