Thompsons Mills is the site or Oregon’s newest state park. It’s located in Shedd, a little country town located between Tangent and Halsey along Highway 99E. I lived in Shedd for nearly 20 years and have many fond memories of the people and the agriculture there.

Thompsons Mills State Park is both picturesque and historical. No wonder its such a popular spot for photographers.

I took this shot several years ago. I took this at sunset, but I should go back and give it another try when the sky is more colorful.

  1. Audie at Scio Feed wrote on my Facebook link: “wounderful old mill, toured it a couple of weeks ago.”

    • I’ve pulled in there, I’ve photographed the buildings and I knew the people who sold the property to the state, but I have yet to take a tour. It’s definitely on my list of to dos.

  2. Excellent! Beautiful reflection.
