I took this photo several years ago. I had just gotten my Canon Rebel xTi, so when my family went for a walk around our rural neighborhood of course I took the new camera along.

I don’t know about you other photographers, but whenever I get a new camera I always wind up taking a few photos right away that remain among my all-time favorites.

This is one of those shots.

My husband was pushing our middle son in a stroller and the neighbor’s llamas came over near the fence to watch the strange contraption on wheels being pushed along by a human.

That’s when I got this shot.

I really like how it looks like the darker llama is the lighter llama’s shadow.

I entered this in the county fair and took a second or third place ribbon.

I had noticed that the three llamas in this field were gone. I asked the owner yesterday what happened to them. He said they died of some sort of virus.
