I got back Friday from a three-day writers’ retreat at the coast. One of my best friends, Paty Jager and I stayed at another writer friend’s new beach house in Lincoln City, Oregon. Beautiful place. It was fun, relaxing and productive.

Paty and I walked to the beach during the only rain break of the three days. It was supposed to be an eight-minute walk. Instead, it took us 45 minutes to find the 132-step staircase down to the beach!

While we were circling up hill and down, trying to find the beach path, we stumbled upon an adorable, weathered-wood house with this picket fence.

I messed around with depth of field, focal point and composition to get this shot.

I’ll be sharing a few photos that I took at and along the coastline here and at my miracles blog – click here to check those out.

As for the writing retreat, Paty, Lori and I all got a lot written on our various fiction projects. Over the three days away from husband, kids and responsibilities, I’d hoped to finish DAISIES ARE TRUE – a short novel of love and magic. That didn’t happen – it’s not yet finished. But it is getting closer! To check out my published novel, MIST, click here.
