These blooms are on one of the plants my husband gave me for Valentine’s Day.

I was taking photos last week during a sun break and liked the way a sunbeam was hitting these flowers, which are now planted in a bed by the front walkway.

I like the way the background is dark, almost black – as though the shot were taken in a studio with a backdrop, and using controlled lighting. Surprisingly, this is straight out of the camera.
