This is my friend Paty’s donkey, George.

George is a true character. I’ve featured him on this blog several times.

I’m posting this shot for no particular reason, other than I like it, I like animals – donkeys included. And I like good old George.

If I were to critique the photo, I’d say I’d like to see less shadow on the face and some catch light (or highlight) in the eye.

On the plus side, the composition is strong, loosely following the rule of thirds. If you were to divide the frame into thirds,  the focal point, or the donkey’s eye is about 1/3 of the way over to the right. The background is simple. The touch of green in the foreground is nice, the animal dung is not so nice.
