And now for something completely different…

I still have a few more frozen shots that I’ll likely share, but thought it might be nice to break those up with some water fowl.

I took this shot at Cheadle Lake in Lebanon, Oregon, several weeks back. The lake level was low after a long, dry summer and fall. Usually the Canada geese paddle around the lake. That day they were standing around on one foot preening themselves.

I was drawn to the birds’ reflections and the composition of the group.

The photo naturally came out nearly monochrome, save the hint of blue in the water from the sky reflecting there.
